From 1884
We give away
…emotions!
Built in 1884 by Carlo Valentini on the ancient road that connected the Val di Fassa with the Val Gardena, the first refuge on the Sella Pass mainly hosted merchants in transit. Even after the construction of the new road, slightly further north, the warm family environment did not cease to refresh the caravans of passers-by who wanted to visit the Dolomite lands, remaining fascinated by the views offered by the wild local nature.
“For four generations the Refuge has been continuously modernized, from my great-grandfather to my father, Carlo Valentini”;. Nowadays it sleeps 45 people and all rooms are equipped with bathroom. The tradition of mountain and mountaineering has found in this strategic refuge the ideal starting point for hiking and climbing routes in the Sella and Sassolungo Groups, which stand imposingly in front of it. It can be reached by car, 100 m from the provincial road or on foot, in 10 minutes from Passo Sella.
